Traditional Muaythai School opened its doors in Chilliwack, BC on August 8th, 2018. We continually strive to bring the best in Muaythai to its members.

Whether that be from our experienced Kru and instructors, or our professional facility and equipment, Traditional Muaythai School is an excellent choice for learning Muaythai.

We are not focused on competitive fighters – but for those who do want to compete – they have the option to join the Iron City Fight Team under Kru Jason Fenton.

About Muaythai

Muaythai is a fun and efficient way to burn fat and lose weight while building your core, flexibility, and overall strength. With running, jumping rope, and shadow boxing Muaythai provides an aerobic workout to prepare your body for more intense challenges.

Muaythai builds great anaerobic endurance by performing exercises such as punching and kicking on the pads or bags and clinching to work your body to its limits. This makes Muaythai not only a perfect martial art but also a very effective form of exercise. With continued training, Muaythai will vastly improve your strength, dexterity, and cardiovascular performance.

It is highly effective for self-defence.

It strengthens your mind, body, and spirit.

  • Increased core strength

    The aim of core strength exercises is to toughen your core muscles, which include your lower back muscles, muscles around your pelvis and your abdominal muscles.

  • Increased leg strength

    Learning how to kick strengthens the musculature of the lower body. Every muscle in your lower body will benefit from practicing the various kicks and footwork drills incorporated in the sport.

  • Cardiovascular condition

    Being both aerobic and anaerobic, Muaythai helps to strengthen the cardiopulmonary system.

    The majority of us accumulate a fair amount of stress during the day. Having an outlet for that stress feels fantastic and can work wonders for your mental and physical health.

    Muaythai is one of the most practical arts for self defense. The knowledge of how to controls hands/arms, along with the ability to effectively strike, is the best skill set to have in order to defend yourself.
